A NAV 2016 user had the inability to access the Drop Ship feature in the Sales Order module. The Drop Ship and Purchasing Code columns, which are required to access the Drop Ship feature in NAV were simply not visible and available to them. The user was assigned to the default Permission set “S&R Q/O/I/R/C” . When selecting the CHOOSE COLUMNS option int he sales order line window, the columns for Drop Ship and Purchasing Codes are simply missing in either the visible or available field list.

RESOLUTION:

Add Table 223 (Drop Shot. Post. Buffer) to the list of tables that the user has access to.

Afterwards, make sure the user logs out and back in to NAV and the two fields required to process a drop shipment in the Sales Order module will become visible and available.
